Prof. Dr. Klemens Skibicki (born 1972 in Cologne, Germany) completed his PhD in 2001 in economic history, after having studied business administration and economics at the University of Cologne (“Universität zu Köln”). Since 2004 until 2019 he has been professor for economics, marketing and market research at the Cologne Business School, Germany. In addition to academic research related to online marketing, he began his entrepreneurial career complementing his scientific work as a strategic consultant. Skibicki co-founded Convidera GmbH in 2012, ending up employing around 70 people in offices in Cologne and Düsseldorf and consulting numerous firms, ranging from DAX- to midsize corporations when he sold his shares there in 2016. Since Mid-2016 he continues to consult companies in all branches at c-level in change management to manage the holistic digital transformation of their value chain. Besides his PROFSKI GmbH invests into digital start-ups. The findings from research, consulting work and self-established web projects have led to his publication of six books, involving the topics digital restructuring and Social Media. From January 2013 until June 2018 he has been associate member of the advisory board “Young Digital Economy” (“junge digitale Wirtschaft”) of the German Federal Ministry for Economy and Energy (“Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie”).

Richard Freeman worked for Collins Aerospace in the UK from 1990-96 as a Production Metallurgist, dealing with the manufacture of a wide range of actuation components, including investment castings. He then joined TWI, a UK R&D technology consultancy in 1996, where he led the aerospace industry sector activities, eventually becoming an Associate Director in the company. After 25 years at TWI he joined the Performance Review Institute (PRI) in late 2021, to lead the Metallic Materials Manufacturing Task Group as a Principal Staff Engineer. PRI administers the Nadcap program, and the Metallic Materials Manufacturing Task Group covers the manufacture of forgings, sand and investment castings, on behalf of the aerospace OEM community.
Richard obtained a BSc Honors degree in Metallurgy in 1987 from Sheffield University, and a PhD in 1994 while working full-time on some R&D projects at Collins Aerospace. He is a UK Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Materials.
He has been the UK representative on the ISO TC44 SC14 welding in aerospace committee, and also the ISO TC 261 committee with ASTM F42 personnel on additive manufacturing for aerospace, for the last 14 years. He also represents the UK on the AWS D17 welding in aerospace committee, and has done for 25 years.
Richard will be speaking at the EICF Conference event on the Nadcap casting program.

Andrew is a process control engineer with over 25 years of experience in R&D, Process Control, Innovation and Product Development. Working in UK, Europe and East Africa, he has worked in a variety of roles including entrepreneur, employee and consultant in a variety of sectors including glass manufacture, water purification, wastewater treatment and equipment manufacture.
Andrew joined LBBC in 2020 as part of a KTP program with Leeds University and Innovate UK before joining LBBC full time in Aug 2022 to continue developing LBBC’s new breed of process equipment that is cloud-connected and enabling valued insights on the process and equipment performance for both LBBC and their customers. His current role leverages process insights to develop new features or technologies that deliver added value to our I.C. customers.

Michael Kügelgen, bom on July 22, 1955, studied mechanical engineering in Aachen. From 1987 he worked for the company "International Aerospace Technologies" as head of development and production for unmanned aerial vehicles, UAV’s.
In 1993 he started his own engineering office Kügelgen & Partner in Bonn. His main activities were design and consulting services in the field of aerospace and general engineering worldwide.
At the beginning of 1997, Michael Kugelgen decided to set up his own production facility for the development of special machines in addition to his consulting activities. A modern production facility has been established on 3,000 sqm with its own R&D area as well as training and conference rooms. With its modern facilities for rapid prototyping and investment casting, MK Technology is a world leader.
Michael Kügelgen has won fifteen innovation prizes and awards with his company MK Technology GmbH and holds several patents. The company belongs to the exclusive circle of "Hidden Champions" and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022.

Dr. Florian Röper was born in Vienna (Austria) on September 4th, 1982. He holds a diploma in Materials Science from the Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) and a PhD also from the Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria). In his PhD thesis he investigated structural bonds for aircraft repairs and wrote a thesis titled: “Structural Integrity and Durability of Adhesively Bonded Joints for Composite Repair in Aircraft Applications”. Before joining the Austrian Foundry Institute (Österreichisches Gießere-Institut) in Leoben (Austria), Dr. Röper was employed at the Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH as a doctoral and post-doctoral researcher. During this time, he published peer reviewed as well as conference papers for international conferences. E.g., at the European Conference on Composite Materials (ECCM) and at the International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM). He also was in charge of national funded research projects. At the Austrian Foundry Institute (Österreichisches Gießerei-Institut), Dr. Röper’s main focus is Computed Tomography (CT). He also is head of the CT laboratory and project leader of national funded research projects.

Stéphane obained his engineering degree in materials science in Nancy, France, from the european school of material science and engineering. He also obtained a master degree in material science from Saarland university, Germany, and specialized into metallic materials during his final project when he focussed on the synthesis and characterisation of Fe-based bulk metallic glasses. Then he moved to Switzerland and joined the institue of materials of the EPFL in Lausanne for his PhD. His PhD was a joined collaboration between Alstom, the EPFL and the Paul Scherrer institute and aimed at investigating, using X-rays and neutrons diffraction techniques, the evolution of the microstructure of single crystal Ni-based superalloys during manufacturing process and creep deformation. Afters successfully defending his PhD thesis in September 2008, Stéphane joinded Safran Aircraft Engines company in France and worked for 4 years as material mechanics engineer. During this period, he submitted several papers in international conferences on the topic of high temperature crack growth mechanisms in wrought Ni-based alloys. Then he moved to design office division of the company and managed several projects to support the transition of innovative life prediction methodologies for aircraft engine rotative components from R&D to design operation work. In 2020, Stéphane decided to join Garrett Advancing Motion, one of the world leading company in turbocharging technology for automotive industry, to be part of the material and structure team in the french site of the company in Thaon-les-Vosges. During 2.5 years, Stéphane was leading the development of high temperature life prediction methodologies of turbine wheel components and implemented creep and TMF materials and life models into design processes. During the same period, he worked at implementing casting simulation capabilities in the software portfolio of the company, espacially focussing on casting defect risk assessment on investment cast turbine wheels made of Ni-based superalloys. 6 month ago, Stéphane moved to a new role of subject matter expert for electrical materials and is now owning material development work for electrical machines within the company.

He held two industrial postdoctoral fellowships focused on aluminum alloys casting – at Brunel Centre for Advanced Solidification Technology (BCAST) as Jaguar Land Rover Research Fellow and in Canada, as Rio Tinto Alcan post-doctoral fellow. Dr Bolouri has won and led competitive internal and external research grants.

Gavin also completed a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University in 2019.

Joseph E. Fritz has been the Executive Director of the Investment Casting Institute (ICI) and its wholly owned subsidiary, INCAST Magazine (the world’s only monthly publication dedicated to Investment Casting), since 2013. Under his leadership, the ICI has focused its initiatives on member services, educational resources, technological collaboration, industry sustainability and growth.
With over 30 years’ experience in the Aerospace and Power Generation industries, Mr. Fritz has worked in a variety of capacities with a number of Fortune 100 as well as privately held companies. During this time, he has contributed to a number of programs, including the Navy’s Trident II, Phalanx and Aegis programs, the Air Force’s Joint Strike Fighter program and Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner program.
Mr. Fritz holds degrees in Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MBA with a concentration in Strategic Marketing from Union College.
He continually strives to better the organization and all those associated with the ICI.
